Neighbours website The Perfect Blend interviewed Jason Herbison, as he treats fans to what 2015 holds for the show. We all know 2015 is going to be big with the show celebrating it's 30th anniversary, but executive producer Jason Herbison has shed some light on what's to come for this year in an interview with The Perfect Blend. Speaking to the extensive Neighbours reference website, he revealed many hints as to what fans can expect to see in 2015. Talking about Karl and Susan, Herbison revealed that 2015 will see an extended visit from a family member, which, according to Herbison "will bring new challenges." We obviously have no word on who this returning face could be, but it could be anyone from a Kennedy child, grandchild, or one of Susan's sisters or nieces and nephews. With the renovation of The Waterhole last year, Herbison hopes to one day give Harold's a major facelift, but with the constant backlog of filming on the Harold's set, the task has been pretty hard to fulfil. "It's actually very difficult as at any given time there is always a long list of outstanding scenes to be shot there. You can't change the set over the weekend and then change it back for a pick-up scene!" As many fans will be aware, Des Clarke will be returning to Ramsay Street for the first time since 1990 for the 30th anniversary festival celebrations. Herbison has revealed that despite Des not having a huge appearance, it will still be a fantastic treat for fans to see another original cast member on the street. "It was a true thrill to have Des back on set. Paul is instrumental in his return, which makes sense as he's the only other character from the original cast." Herbison also hopes to be able to bring Des back in the future. Toadie, who recently passed his 20th anniversary on the show in January, will be getting a celebration later in the year, with characters returning to visit him, some of whom will already be returning in March. With youngest Willis, Piper, still on exchange in Canada, Terese will visit her throughout the year, but at this stage we won't be meeting her. Herbison hopes to introduce the character eventually. Lucy and Chris, who have recently gone ahead with plans to have a baby, will be dealing with each other a lot over the coming months, as the baby storyline continues to unfold. Despite not mentioning whether Lucy will fall pregnant or not, Herbison does reveal that their story in far from over. Finally, Jason gave a quick overlook at what's to come, saying that fans will be witness to a wedding, a funeral, a surprise pregnancy, Lou & Karl in lycra, and a new regular character who will have a big impact on the street and who already has a connection with a current resident. All of this, plus the upcoming festival and twelve returnees, means 2015 is just going to get bigger and better as the year goes on, so make sure you keep tuning in. The first of the major returnees, Harold Bishop, will be returning to Australian screens on Tuesday February 17, and nosey Hilary Robinson will be back on Februar 25, while the next arrival is Terese's brother Nick, who arrives on February 19. |
